SLD in a Battle of the Bands
We decided to take part in the Battle of the Bands competition at Zydeco on April 7th. A music competition is normally something we would scoff at. Mostly, I think, because of our age and resulting cynicism. "Making it" has never been as high of a priority to us as is the quality of our art. However, this will give us a chance to come out of our shell a bit and open our music up to an audience that we probably would not normally be able to reach. That being said, we appreciate the people that contacted us and offered this opportunity. You can contact us via email or facebook if you want tickets. They are $7.00 before the show or $9.00 at the door. Our friend David (Munook) is also playing so come out and support both us, and as always we appreciate the support that we are always given.
We are going into the studio at the beginning of March to begin our debut EP, title unkown. If you can't tell, this band is nothing if not particular about its sound and song structures. So now that the fine tuning is almost complete we can finally put forth our creation.
Our friend David (Munook) will be performing songs from his album "In & Of It" at The Local Standard pub in Cullman, AL. See Events for more info or check out his site here www.munook.com
SLD will record a five or six song EP
We are in the process of selecting which songs we want to record and getting those published. We are also busy trying to select the person we feel is capable of seeing this thing through the way we envision it. This may take a little time but we are prepared to wait for the right circumstances. All that being said, we expect to get started sometime after the holidays.
